THE TECUMSEH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH COUNCIL
The Administrative Council of Tecumseh United Methodist Church met Sunday, January 7, 2008 at 7:15 pm. Those present were Nelta Hennessey, Chairperson, Pastor Dottie Forinash Knetsch, Ernestine Adams, Carolyn Edwards, Betty Fergola, Rita Halderman, Diana Halstead, Steve Hennessey, Jan Kieffer, Pat Krug, Donna Johnston, Neva Martin, Larry McCammon, Willa Norwood, Darlene Peck, Nancy Rush, Colleen Scott, Betty Waller.
Nelta welcomed everyone to council meeting. She asked each member to consider their answer to the question - when you were asked to serve on administrative council, why did you say yes. Did it occur to you that someone recommended you because they saw a talent in you. Nelta asked that council members be committed to serve just as Jesus’ disciples served. She would like the council to be a ministry rather than an administrative body. Nelta chose a Bible reading from the book of Romans. She stressed the importance of communication and asked that any decisions needing to be made should be listed as an item on the agenda for council meetings. Nelta closed the opening and devotional time with prayer.
The minutes of the October council meeting and the minutes of the 2007 Annual Church Conference held on November 4 were accepted as printed.
During committee reports, Darlene (Missions) told of a Global Mission Experience which will be held at Countryside UMC on February 23. Registration deadline is February 8.
