Faithfully Fit Forever - a holistic approach to fitness, addressing body, mind and soul. Exercises for those 50 to 95 years of age (if you fall outside of those parameters, write a note and we may make an exception). Actually, ALL ARE WELCOME (of either gender). Thursdays, 9 AM to 10 AM. Exercises led by Darlene Peck and Carole Stone. Health info and devotions led by Neva Martin. Sponsored by the TUMC Health Ministry Team, under a grant from the United Methodist Health Fund through the Healthy Congregations in Action Initiative.
An off-shoot of the FFF Class is a group called the Monday Morning Walkers. A loose knit group that walks at Tecumseh Park on Monday mornings, usually starting about 8 AM - but there is no roll call, so we welcome all comers. From our measurements, 5 trips around the asphalt drive equals one mile. If you include the gravel segment around the back of the park (where you really get serenaded by the birds), you will walk .3 mile on one circuit, rather than the .2 mile on just the blacktop. This is a delightful way to begin the "work" week, and may inspire you to further walking - which is one of the best means (and most inexpensive) of making your lifestyle healthier. And a healthier lifestyle is what the HCIA (Healthy Congregations in Action) pilot project is all about! Hallelujah Health!
